Balochistan PA adopts resolution against drone attack threat

-The resolution strongly condemned the presence of US bases in Balochistan,
besides criticising the US and Nato forces drone attacks in the tribal areas.
QUETTA - The Balochistan Assembly on Saturday unanimously adopted a resolution
against the possible drone asttacks in the province by the United States and the
Nato forces.
It demanded of the federal government to take up the matter with the US
government as Pakistan being the frontline state was playing an important role
in the war against terror. Speaker Muhammad Aslam Bhootani was in the chair.
Senior Minister and parliamentary leader of the JUI-F in the provincial assembly
Maulana Abdul Wasey tabled the joint resolution on behalf of ministers Maulana
Abdul Bari Agha, Haji Muhammad Nawaz, Maulvi Sarwar Musakhail, Maulana Abdul
Samad Akhunzada, Haji Ainullah Shams and Jay Parkash.
The resolution urged the provincial government to approach the federal
government to condemn the US intention regarding the drone attacks in
Balochistan as reported by a section of the US press.
The resolution strongly condemned the presence of US bases in Balochistan,
besides criticising the US and Nato forces drone attacks in the tribal areas.
The House demanded of the federal government to fulfil their responsibilities to
stop the possible US drone attacks in the province.
Speaking on the occasion, PML-Q Parliamentary Leader Sheikh Jaffar Khan
Mandokhel said that the drone strikes would cause turmoil in the province,
asking the US to evade such a move.
Abdul Khaliq Bashar Dost of the JUI-Ideological group said the people of
Balochistan are peaceful and there are no Taliban in the province, as such the
US should not dare to carry out drone attacks.
He said the US is doing this just for its vested interests. Other speakers
strongly condemned the warning of the US government and said the US is now
initiating a new game with Pakistan which had been uprooting terrorism in the
region. They demanded of the government to devise its strategy.
Giving arguments in favour of the resolution, Minister for Agriculture Mir
Asadullah Baloch said a meeting should be convened immediately over the issue of
possible US drone attacks in Balochistan to form a joint strategy in this
regard.
