2010 계양산 반딧불이 축제가 8월28일(토) 개막식을 시작으로 2주동안 진행됩니다.

올해는 계양지역의 교회, 성당, 시민사회단체, 정당 24개가 조직위원회를 구성하여 반딧불이 축제를 진행합니다. 시민들이 참여하는 탐사는 1일 3개조 60명씩 2주간의 신청이 모두 마감되었습니다만,

마지막 날인 9월12일(일) 반딧불이 탐사에 시민위원회 대표님들과 시의원, 지역사회인사들을 모십니다.

특별히 올해는 계양산 반딧불이 서식지 보전방안과 반딧불이 축제의 발전방향과 관련한 토론회도 진행됩니다. 애정어린 관심과 참여를 부탁드립니다.



1. 2010 계양산 반딧불이 축제 개막식 : 8월28일(토) 서운체육공원

- 참여마당 : 오후 5시~7시 (자연물로 반딧불이 만들기, 천연염색, 떡메치기, 페이스페인팅 등)

- 개막식 및 공연 : 계양지역에 거주하는 가수, 밴드, 오케스트라, 춤 등의 공연이 있습니다.


2. 계양산 반딧불이 서식지 보존과 지역축제로의 발전을 위한 토론회

- 일시 및 장소 : 9월7일(화) 오후 2시 계양구청 신비홀


3. 2010 계양산 반딧불이 축제 폐막식 : 9월12일(일) 오후 9시 계양역

The English title after Korean is her translation. According to M.S., Koji Sugihara ( No! to Nukes and MD Campaign) asks the people in Korea as well as in the world to be informed with his campaign to stop Muji from expanding into Israel. 'Muji is an international Japanese shop chain of plain, ordinaly lifestyle materials for young adults.' The Korean translated article was loaded in the Peace Making website as well.

According to M.S. the Muji is also connected to a Korean company Lotte. The activists, Incheon, Korea have been fighting long time to boycott Lotte against its golf course field in the Gyeyang Mt. in Incheon, which will destroy the ecology system of Incheon.

무인양품」(이하, 무인)(주식회사 양품계획: 良品計画) 은 2011년 중에 이스라엘 진출을 결정했다고 한다.

이스라엘의 기업 카이리 그룹과 라이센스 계약을 맺고, 상표의 라이센스 공여와 상품 공급을 할 예정이라고 한다. 텔아비브이나 예루살렘에 1호점을 오픈한다는 계획이다. 양품 계획은 스스로 “일계 소매 기업으로서 진출은 첫 번째” 라고 웹 사이트에 마치 자랑처럼 언급하고 있다.

어떻게 지금 이스라엘에 진출하는가? 지금이야 말로 이스라엘 보이콧이 전 세계적으로 고조하고 있는 때인데.

무인 측의 설명은 이렇다. “(이스라엘의) GDP는 2008년 가을 이후의 세계 경제 불황의 영향에도 불구하고 약세이지만 성장하고 있고, 2010년은 회복의 징조가 보이기 때문에 진출의 가치가 충분하다고 판단했습니다” 요컨대「잘 벌수 있을 것이다」라는 의미이다.

오랫동안 국제법을 위반하고 (팔레스타인에 대한)점령을 계속해왔으며, 가자(Gaza)학살이나 봉쇄, 그리고 인도주의적 지원선 공격 등 수많은 인권침해를 반복해온「불량국가」. 고립 장벽 즉「아파르트헤이트 월」을 쌓아, 전쟁 범죄를 지속적으로 저지르면서도 처벌 받지 않고 있는「무법 국가」. 그러한 이스라엘에 일본 소매점으로서는 역사상 처음으로 진출하는 것에 대해, 무인은 어떤 의의를 찾고 있는가. 나쁜「선구자」로서 오명을 새기는 짓은 그만 두는 게 자신 위해 나은 선택 일 것이다.

「팔레스타인의 평화를 생각하는 모임 (일본/오사카) 」이나 「팔레스타인 정보 센터」등의 요청에 따라, 이미 많은 사람들이 무인에 대해 진출 중지를 요청하는 노력을 해 왔다.

그러나 그에 대한 무인 측의 답변은 어이가 없다. 가라사대, 이스라엘에서의 활동은 “단순한 상품 공급” 에 불과하다는 것이다. “당사의 희망은 분쟁의 원인이 된 여러 문제들에서 벗어나, 세계 속의 가능한 한 많은 생활인 여러분들에게『무인양품』의 상품을 통해, 당사가 생각하는『검소한 삶』을 제안하며 만족을 얻게 하는 것입니다”.

“단 순한 상품의 공급” 이 커다란 정치적 메시지를 갖는다는 것을 인식하지 못할 리가 없는데. 이스라엘을 향한 유명 일본 기업의 첫 진출은, 이스라엘 측이 더 이상 원하는 게 없을 정도의 정치적 지원과 다르지 않을 것이다. 그것은 이스라엘 정체성을 용인하는 sign (＝무인無印의 ‛인印’ ) 이 될 것이다. 그리고 무인에 이어서 일본 기업의 (이스라엘)진출 문턱은 더욱 낮아 질 것이다.

그건 그렇고 “분쟁의 원인이 된 여러 문제들과 벗어난” 형태의 상업 행위라는 것이 존재하는가? 분쟁의 원인이 된 무법 행위에 눈을 감은 채 ‘검소한 삶’ 을 주장하는 것은 어이없는 태도이다. 그러한 비논리를 무인이 진심으로 믿고 있다면「재출발하라!」고 할 수 밖에 없다.

5 월 하순에 휴먼 라이츠 나우(Human Rights Now)의 초빙으로 일본을 방문한 라지 스라니 (Raji Sourani. 팔레스타인 인권센터: Palestinian Center for Human Rights) 는 “우리들은 카프카(=Franz Kafka)의 세계에 살고 있다” 고 말했다. 보호받을 권리를 마땅히 가지고 있는 가자(Gaza)의 시민들이, 원래 제재의 대상이 되어야할 이스라엘로부터 오히려 ‘처벌’ 당하고 있다. 그러한 전도를 허락하는 것은, 미국이나 유럽 정부들의「묵인에 의한 공모」때문에 가능한 것이다. 일본 정부도 공모의 코넥션에 참여하고 있다. 인도지원선 가자 자유 (free gaza) 호에 대한 이스라엘군의 습격과 학살을 비난하며, UN인권이사회는 독립조사단 파견을 요청하였으나 이에 대해 일본정부는 기권이라는 부끄러운 선택을 했다.

덧붙이자면 무인양품의 기업 행동 이념에는 “성실하고, 더 정직하게”, “모든 것에 대해 커뮤니케이션을” 라고 적혀있다. 아파르트헤이트 국가 이스라엘에 처음으로 진출하여 이익을 얻는 것이 과연 “성실” 한 행위인가. 진출 중단은 결과적으로 무인의 기업 이미지를 보전하는데 도움이 될 것이다. 그런 사람들의 고마운 의견을 무시하는 것은 “커뮤니케이션” 거부 행위이다.

다행히 무인양품은 유명기업이다. 많은 소비자들이 그 존재를 인지하고 있기에, 무인양품의 기업 활동은 광범위에 전달될 것이다. 그리고 프랑스, 파리에 8개 점포가 진출하고 있는 등, 보이콧 운동이 강한 지역에도 이미 진출해 있다. 현재까지는 무인은 진출 결정을 재고하는 자세를 전혀 보여주고 있지 않다. 그러나 이미 에가와 쇼코 씨 (江川紹子, 저널리스트. 옴 진이교〈オウム真理教〉문제를 비롯한 일본 내 사회문제부터 국제정세까지 넓은 분야로 발언 중) 등이 무인의 이스라엘 진출에 대한 비판을 하기 시작했다. 앞으로 운동이 넓어짐에 따라 진출 중지라는 결정이 내려질 가능성이 충분히 존재할 것 같지 않은가.

나는 1995년, 프랑스가 남태평양에서 핵실험을 연속적으로 강행했던 무렵, 항의행동의 일환으로, 프랑스 제품 불매 운동에 참여한 적이 있다. 긴자(銀座. 일본의 번화가) 의 명품 점 앞에서 음료수「에비앙」을 흘려버리는 퍼포먼스를 하곤 했다. 당시 많은 매스컴들은 프랑스를 강력하게 비판하며, 우리들의 항의 행동을 호의적으로 보도했다.

그러한 행동을 나는 무인양품 본사나 점포에서도 하고 싶지는 않다. 이왕이면 냉정하게 기업답게 리스크 계산을 예측해서, 이스라엘 진출 결정을 철회하기를 바란다. 그럼에도 불구하고 진출을 강행한다면, 창조적 상상력을 발현 하여 무인양품 보이콧 운동을 국제적으로 전개할 수 밖에 없을 것이다. 다행히 보이콧 운동은 구매하지 않으면 되는 운동이자, 기쁘게도 가난한 사람들조차 할 수 있는 활동이다.

무인은 손상된 기업 이미지를 회복하는 게 간단하지 않을 것임을 깨달아야 한다. 1980년 세이유 (西友. 일본 할인 마트 중의 하나) 의 자체 브랜드에 불과했던 무인은, 1989년 이례적으로 한 개 사업부가 회사로서 독립을 했고. 이후 급성장을 이뤄 왔다. 80년 당시에는 40품목에 불과했던 품목 수는 현재 약7500점. 양품계획은 저렴한 전문점과의 경쟁을 의식하여, 품목을 5000점까지 좁히는 방침을 밝혔다고 한다.

또 현재 해외 진출을 가속화 하고 있고, 2011년 판매액이 2,000억 엔에 달할 것이라고 예상되고 있는 가운데, 이중 약 20%는 해외(아시아) 판매 비율일 것이라고 한다. 이번 이스라엘 진출 결정은 그 일환인 것이다.

「기업의 사회적 책임 (CSR)」이 떠들썩하게 선전되지 오랜 시간이 지났다. 무인은 기업으로서 윤리적 좌절의 길을 이대로 뛰어갈 것인가. 부끄러운 보이콧 리스트에 그 이름을 남길 것인가. 그것은「혈인악품」으로 향하는 길이다. 무인이 선택하는 길은 일본 기업의 CSR에 대한 본질을 만천하에 드러내는 것이 될 것이다.

무인의 양심이 시험대에 올라가 있다. 그리고 일본의 소비자, 시민의 도의적 수준 또한 시험대에 올라가 있다. 네 행동이 시험대에 올라가 있다.

She has worked against the golf field construction plan by the Lotte company from 2007 and has worked with the pivotal role of the council for two years since then. The Incheon activists have started the rolling one-day hunger strike in the tent at the top of the Gyeyang mountain since Oct. 7, 2009 and she is coordinating the works on it such as the press release and schedule for the fast volunteers. Next month, fast protest site will be moved in front of the Incheon City Hall. She has recently been accused by the Lotte Company with the two others (Ryu Jong Ban, Co-representative and Jang Jung-Goo of the Green United, City of Incheon) in the council under the name of ‘Dishonoring’, ‘Intervention of business’. But the unknown high school students who have had compassion with the Gyeyang mountain struggle issue donated their money of 1 million won (* $1,000) which they had gotten for the award on the voluntary public service works, for the save of the accused three. Ms. Roh, Hyun-Gi says such donations of the similar amount by the unknown high school students who got the money for the same awards and who wanted to save the Gyeyang mountain happened twice in the past as well. Her nickname has become 'The Gyeayang Mounatin Keeper". Otherwise, She was also the initiator of the ecology education in the city of Incheon in 2003. Welcome to Lotte World. Lotte Group, a major South Korean corporation, has their hands in many things. Cookies, real estate, golf courses, electronics, hotels, baseball teams in Korea and Japan, heavy chemicals, financial services and more. In all the Lotte Corporation has 60 distinct business units.

롯데 월드에 오신 것을 환영합니다. 남한의 한 주요 기업, 롯데 그룹은 많은 것을 손에 쥐고 있읍니다. Korea와 일본에 과자, 부동산, 골프장, 전자, 호텔, 야구팀을, 그리고 중화학, 금융등 더 많은 것을요. 롯데 기업에는 모두 60 여개의 개별적 사업 단위들이 있읍니다.

You might recall my blog post ,while I was in Incheon during my recent trip, about meeting a local minister who sat in a tree house in the woods for 155 days in protest of the Lotte Corporation's plan to tear up the Gyeyang Mountain, the highest mountain around Incheon with many rare plants and animals. Lotte wants to build a world class golf course for the rich.

여러분께서는 저의 최근 여행중 인천에 있었을 때 롯데 기업이 인천부근에서 가장 높은 산이자 많은 희귀 동,식물이 사는 계양산을 찢으려는 계획에 반대, 155일간 숲속의 나무 집에서 155일을 앉아 있었던 지역 목사님과의 만남에 대한 제 블로그 포스트를 기억하실 지 모릅니다. 롯데는 부자들을 위해 세계적 골프 장을 지으려 합니다.

For several years the pertinent government agencies would not give Lotte Group permission to bulldoze the mountain. Then 2MB (also called the bulldozer) got elected president, recall that I said he is married into the Lotte family, and everything changed.

몇년간 정부 부서들은 적절하게도 롯데 그룹이 산을 불도저로 밀려는 계획을 허락하지 않았읍니다. 제가 2MB가 롯데 기업과 사돈을 맺었다고 말씀드린 것을 기억하실텐데, 2MB(또한 불도저로 불리는)가 대통령이 되자 모든 것이 변했읍니다.

Today 55 organizations in Incheon are organizing to stop this destruction of one of the few remaining wilderness areas around the sprawling city. They have undertaken a rolling fast to help build opposition. People do a hunger strike for 24 hours and go into the mountain and sleep in a tent.

오늘날 인천의 55개 단체가 뻗어가는 도시 주변의 몇 개 안 남은 야생 지역의 한 곳을 파괴하는 것에 반대하기 위해 조직하고 있읍니다. 그들은 반대[운동]을 쌓는 것을 돕기 위해 교대 단식을 취했읍니다. 사람들은 산으로 가 24시간 단식을 하고 천막에서 잡니다.

Before I left Incheon my host Sung-Hee Choi signed up to strike on October 29 and I agreed to join her in solidarity. Since they are one-day ahead of us in South Korea, her action is already done. I've just begun mine and will not eat until 9:00 am on Friday morning. Not a huge sacrifice but the folks there issued a news release yesterday proclaiming they now had international support and participation. I am glad to help a bit.

인천을 떠나기 전, 제 주최측 최성희씨가 10월 29일 단식을 하기로 서명했고 저 역시 연대에서 그녀의 단식에 참여하기로 동의했읍니다. 남한은 우리보다 하루가 빠르므로 그녀의 행동은 이미 취해졌읍니다. 저는 제 [단식을] 막 시작했고 금요일 오전 9시까지 아무 것도 먹지 않을 것입니다. 큰 희생은 아니나 그 곳의 사람들은 그들이 이제 국제적 지지와 참여를 갖게 되었다는 보도 자료를 어제 발표했읍니다. 저는 약간이나마 도울 수 있어 기쁩니다.

Everywhere in South Korea that I turned I saw signs of the Lotte Corporation. All big corporations seem to be imperialists these days. They want to take over the whole world, including the trees and the plants. The least I can do is to help say no.

남한에서 제가 고개를 돌릴 때마다 롯데 기업의 표시를 볼 수 있었읍니다. 요즘은 모든 대기업들이 제국주의자들로 보입니다. 그들은 나무와 식물들을 비롯하여 전 세계를 차지하려 합니다. 제가 할 수 있는 최소한의 것은 아니오 라고 말하는 것을 돕는 것입니다.
