Text Fwd: Atomosphere Here in Japan on the Good and the Bad

E –mail from Makiko Sato on March 26, 2009

" I've been spreading yesterday's good news on Czech's radar plan. Some have soon responded,"Such good news!," though we have a situation here in Japan because of a probable missile launch by the North.

Japanese media have been bashing the North, agitating young Japanese, and most TV stations have been airing the images of MD system, especially PAC3 launchers. (Surely, they regard this situation as a good chance to have normal people in Japan see and accept the presence and the meaning of the MD system.)

But the funny thing was that the Japanese Minister of Foregin Affairs himself recently said that PAC3 cannot shoot down a component which might fall on our land. Last time one fell down into the sea of Japan. (Then why do we buy these?)

On the other hand, one retired prof. committed to peace study has been earnestly asserting that there is a double standard again as to this matter, and that we should keep calm.

We are fortunate enough to have such a man of reason and calm.

Truely,

Makiko
