Photos fwd: Protest against the US-SK marine joint war exercise in Pohang

The activists from the head and branches of the organizations of the Solidarity for Peace And Reunification of Korea, Korean Alliance for Progressive Movement, Korean Confederation of Trade Unions had a press interview in front of the camp Mujuk. in Pohang, a southern eastern harbor city.

The press interview against the US-SK marine joint war exercise was the part of the continued protests and press interviews against the Key Resolve/ Foal eagle war exercise(March 9 to 20, 2009)

According to the activists, The Camp Mujuk is lent to the United Forces of Korea, following the Land Partnership Plan(LPP) and is used as a normal training field by the 8th brigade of the 3rd U.S. marine expedition force, based on Okinawa. The activists also say that the rock climbing exercise was for the purpose of being trained for the mountains- dominated geography of the North Korea.

An internationally known photographer, also a prominent journalist, Lee, Si-Woo has written about it in his interesting Korean article.
