We Are Guahan: Extension Not Long Enough

Guam - The extension for the Government of Guam to execute the Programmatic Agreement is hardly enough time to review the latest version of the document, says Attorney Leevin Camacho from the We Are Guahan organization. "To make it sound like they are doing us a favor by allowing for what I think to be amount of time to review a document that is as important as the PA, it's really unfortunate they are trying to say, 'Well, we are going to give you two more weeks to look at this doc', and in reality they should have given that from the beginning."

Camacho agrees with lawmakers in that the Pagat lawsuit should be litigated first before the PA is signed.

KUAM News meanwhile has received a copy of an e-mail sent on behalf of Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Navy on Environment Donald Schregardus indicating the military is prepared to move forward even without a signed PA.
