US PACOM Commander: "Good Chance" for Korea-US-Japan Military Exercises
The US commander in charge of the Asia Pacific region has expressed a view that there is a "good chance" of a combined military exercise between Korea, the US and Japan being held in the future.
Speaking with reporters at the US embassy in Tokyo on Thursday, the commander of the US Pacific Command, Admiral Robert Willard, said this new joint effort could come some time in the future.
Willard cited that Korea and Japan are both allies of the US, and have "natural interoperable capability," but left the decision to participate in the combined exercises to Seoul and Tokyo.
