Workers’ organizations in South and North Korea demand, “stop the Key Resolve exercise,” adopting a ‘peace statement’

The three workers’ organizations in South and North Korea demanded stop of the Key Resolve military exercise which starts from Feb. 28, through the ‘South and North Korean workers’ joint peace statement.’
The Federation of Korean Trade Unions, Korean Confederation of Trade Unions in South Korean and Pan Trade Union Alliance of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea issued the ‘South and North Korean workers’ peace statement’ in the morning of Feb. 27.
The organizations saying in their joint statement that, “the three workers’ organizations in South and North Korea cannot but concern about the fact that there would be staged another large-size military exercise in the situation when the aftereffect of the Yonpyeong Island incident clash has not gone yet,’ demanded to stop the Key Resolve, a large size ROK-US joint military exercise.”
Saying that “The exercise this time is told to be joined by more than 20,000 U. S. military including the U.S. nuclear power air craft, ‘John Stenis’ and more than corps level South Korean military power under the purpose of preparation for the emergency inside North Korea, such as regime collapse,” they claimed that “There should never be a “presupposition of collapse” of the other party behind the suggestion of talks and a large size training cannot be justified for that.”
