Hafa Adai!
Tomorrow is the first hearing for the lawsuit to stop DoD from turning Pågat Village into a firing range complex-- and the oversight hearing at the Legislature on the Programmatic Agreement. It is a great day to show your love for Pågat, and for Guam!
We Are Guåhan is encouraging everyone to wear a "Prutehi yan Difendi" sticker showing your support for the lawsuit- and put stickers on your family, friends, coworkers and anyone you see.
You can pick up stickers TODAY at the University of Guam, English and Communications Building room 118F (Professor Offices area) between 1 and 4 pm. If you need help finding the office, please call 735-2747.
To get stickers tomorrow, please come to the Programmatic Agreement Oversight Hearing at the Legislature at 9:00am. This is a very important hearing. This hearing is meant to clear up the extremely specific statements made by DoD officials regarding the future of Pågat Village, as well as Guam’s other cultural resources.
One of the statements made by a DoD official was that Pågat Village is not a “pristine area” or “culturally sensitive area.” We Are Guåhan recently accompanied PNC news on a tour of the area to see whether these statements were true:

DoD officials have also stated that they will not be firing their machine guns “into the ocean” or “into Pågat Village.” These statements ignore the fact that bullets and fragments from the 5 firing ranges may land in Pågat Village and the ocean.
Come to the Oversight Hearing tomorrow at the Guam Legislature Public Hearing room! Wear your sticker all day! Take pictures of yourself, friends and family wearing them, and send them to us at action@weareguahan.com. We will compile the pictures we receive in a great collage for everyone to enjoy.
Si Yu'os Ma'ase,
We Are Guahan
