TV "Hiro UGAYA in search for anti SLAPP laws" PART3 of 3 (English subtitle)
(Video URL)

'A Japanse journalist Hiro UGAYA survived the tough days of being a victim of SLAPP suit ( Strategic Lawsuit Against Public Participation ) for 33 month. When he discovered that in Japan there is no legal measure to deter SLAPP or even the concept or not a single document. he decided to take a research trip to the US using his own dime. / Documentary program by a Japanese national TV station TBS. Created by Hiroyuki AKIYAMA.'

'SLAPP ( Strategic lawsuit against public participation) ...As for another case of SLAPP in Japan, a few months ago, two fishermen against the planned Kaminoseki nuclear power plant has been sentenced by the Supreme Court to pay fine of 5 million yen a day for their obtruction of the construction. This sentence is final, so they have to pay.

I don't know the total amount. Maybe more than several tens of millions yen for each.
They have not received the compensation money offered as an exchange for
giving up their fishery right. So they may have to use that money as the ruled fine. (M.S. on Jan. 10, 2011)
