S. Korea to launch first ocean weather-communications satellite in March,

SEOUL, Nov. 6 (Yonhap) -- South Korea will launch its first weather-communications satellite in March that will allow the country gather high quality ocean meteorological data, the government said Friday.
The satellite will be placed in geostationary orbit 36,000km from Earth and be equipped with a multi-spectrum camera and sensor array that can help monitor typhoons, ocean temperatures, the movement of dust and cloud formations, the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology said.
