by the police in Myungsong, Seoul, on the night of Nov. 18, 2009.

The photos below are some extractions on the Koreans’ protest in the multiple cities against the re-dispatch of the South Korean troops to Afghanistan and the police violence against the protesters on Nov. 18, 2009. The police illegally arrested the two students in the press interview in the morning, who were just quietly holding the pickets behind an activist who was doing a press interview with the media. The police arrested 18 again in the candle event in the night. Most were young people and students who were just singing a song, “ Lay Down Gun” and shouting their slogans, “No South Korean troops to Afghanistan. The images come from the multiple sources.

'Songtan AFB, Pyeongtaek, Nov. 18, 2009
Obama first arrived in the Songtan AFB in Pyeongtaek, among the heavy police presence, visited the base first. Pyeongtaek is the proposed North East Asia military hub by the United States Force, and the site of the struggle against the relocation and expansion plan of the United States Forced of Korea under the Strategic Flexibility from 2002 to 2007. One speaker was told to say, “ [The United States and the South Korean governments] forcefully robbed of the farmers’ lands, saying they relocate the Yongsan US base to Pyeongtaek. However they could not complete the relocation during the Roh Moo Hyun government, nor they can not do it by the end of Lee Myung Bak government..., While the village people near the base is suffering for the noise and hearing difficulty in even one runway in the Songtan base, the plan for the additional runway is to give the unbearable suffering to the people nearby the base.’
