해군이 오는 28일 제주해군기지 예정부지에서 안전기원제를 열고 공사 착공을 강행할 움직임을 보이는 가운데 강정마을주민들과 도내 시민사회단체, 종교계가 합동기자회견을 열고 이에 대한 '행동방향'을 밝힐 것으로 보여 주목된다.

강정마을회와 법환어촌계 등 강정주민들, 그리고 제주군사기지 저지 범도민대책위원회, 천주교제주교구 평화의섬 특별위원회, 평화를 위한 그리스도인 모임 등은 오는 23일 오전 11시 도의회 도민의 방에서 ‘해군기지 착공 강행에 맞선 투쟁을 알리는 합동 기자회견’을 연다.

The Gangjeong villagers in the Gangjeong Village People’s Council, Beobwhan Fishing Community, and the Pan-Island Committee against the Jeju Military base, Special Committee for the Island of Peace in the Catholic Jeju district and the Christians for Peace will have the press interview that would announce the fight against the enforcement of the setting-up of the naval base, at 11am, on coming 23rd, in the Island People’s Room, Island Assembly.

군사기지 저지 범대위는 22일 발표한 보도자료에서 “해군의 행태는 논란이 되는 기공식은 생략한 채, ‘기원제’형식을 빌어 스스로의 행보를 정당화해 보려는 매우 얄팍한 의도로 밖에 보이지 않는다"며 "제주도민의 여론과 의사를 노골적으로 무시하는 일방주의적 행보”라고 맹비난했다.
