A snap photo by a man who visited Yang Yoon-Mo, a movie critic, in a confinement cell of the Dongboo police station in the Jeju city on April 7. Yang has been arrested on April 6 when he laid down his body under the truck to prevent the Jeju naval base construction. He started unlimited hunger strike since then. He showed his hand-writing through window to the visitors. The letters read: “I, Yang Yoon-Mo, movie critic, do an unlimited hunger strike at the risk of life, in demands of: 1. Stop of the naval base construction 2. Related to the intentional violence deed by the Seogwipo Police station police men on April 6, lay-off of the chief of the Seogwipo Police station 3. Punishment of the all the policemen who joined in the group violence [during arrest ]on April 6' Second day hunger strike [as of April 7, 2011] For more on his arrest, see:

Despite radiation rain, the attempt on the construction was continued but people prevented it all day on April 7. The navy chief of the Jeju naval base business was compelled to visit the site, to whom people protested regarding forceful and illegal construction. There is no proper construction information that should be posted in the gate of the construction site. Instead an information board beside it says it is for excavation research on cultural properties. What is the navy afraid if? It is ridiculous and infuriating. Despite radiation rain, workers sit-in tent in front of the Island government Hall was forcefully removed again on April 7. Workers have been meeting their 135th sit-in day as of April 7. It is the third time that their tent was removed after Feb. 21 and March 25. Three of them have been in hunger strike since April 6, 2011, the same day when another violent state power was wielded in the Gangjeong village where people are doing the struggle against the Jeju naval base construction.
